Celia Cruz tells the story about the sorrow of dying far from her home in Havana, Cuba, where she was born on October 21, 1925, and lived the first and most tender years of her life.

When Celia Cruz fled Cuba's communist regime to México City with the popular Cuban band “La Sonora Matancera” in 1960, and then subsequently went to live a life of exile in the United States.                                                                 

Celia Cruz said that her wish was to return to a “Free Cuba” at any moment, as the end of her life approaches, she realizes that she would never return to her home in Havana, Cuba.
