I leave you now with these words of a song sung by Celia Cruz, “La Guarachera de Cuba,” that reach the bottom of my heart.  

In one of the last songs that she recorded “Por Si Acaso No Regreso,” Celia Cruz tells the story about the sorrow of dying far from the country where she was born on October 21, 1925 and lived the first and most tender years of her life.   

When Celia Cruz fled from Cuba to Mexico with La Sonora Matancera in 1960 and then subsequently went to live a life of exile in the United States leaving her loved ones behind. 

Celia Cruz said that she would return at any moment, as the end of her life approaches, she realizes that she would never return to her home in the city of Havana, Cuba.
