The photograph of Celia Cruz's husband Pedro Knight and the artist Oscar Pelegrin, was taken during the release of the book, “Celia: My Life,” held on July 21, 2004, at the Books & Books store in Coral Gables, Florida.
And that for the very first time and in her own words, the legendary Cuban-born singer Celia Cruz, who rose to fame in Cuba during the 1950s as a singer of guarachas, earning the nickname “La Guarachera de Cuba,” and then to stardom in the Bronx, New York, as a singer of salsa, earning the moniker “The Queen of Salsa.”

Tells the author of the book, “Celia: My Life,” Ana Cristina Reymundo, the story of her life, her joys, her sorrows and the difficulties she faced during her childhood and youth before she became one of the most famous singers in the history of Latin music.
